About the P.A.
The Parents’ Association at P.S. 220Q is a volunteer group of parents dedicated to foster and maintain a sense of community among the parents and the school; and to assist through special programs and projects for the good and welfare of our community. Every parent with a child attending P.S. 220Q is automatically a member of the P.A. and is encouraged to participate in fulfilling our goals.
What does the P.A. do?
Through fund-raising and volunteer work, the P.A. coordinates memorable events like Picture Day and the Annual Halloween Party, which help fund the Kindergarten Stepping Up and the 5th Grade Graduation. In addition to raising funds for the Kindergarten and 5th graders End of Year Celebrations, the P.A., along with the help of the parents of PS 220, were also able to give back in the following ways:
● Annual School Agendas
● Equipment for the custodial staff
● End of Year Carnival for students
● Various equipment for school’s use
● Fulfill items on the school’s end of year wish list
Every school year presents a unique and specific set of needs which we gear our efforts towards fulfilling. This year we have specific goals that are imperative to meeting our children’s educational needs:
● Music Teacher
● Air conditioning for the auditorium
● PA (Public Announcement) equipment for the auditorium
We need you to hear your thoughts and ideas on how we can work together to meet these goals. Together we can do so much more for our children and greater school community! Please join us
Please feel free to drop us a note in our suggestion box in the Parent’s Corner, where you can also pick up handouts or quick references—it is located at the main entrance to the left of the steps, between the main doors and the glass doors. You can also call or e-mail if you have a question. We are always available to discuss any idea, issue or concerns you may have.
